Water Sports at Lakshadweep

The fascinating expanse of emerald islands, Lakshadweep are set studded in the azure water of Arabian Sea unfolding an additional world in itself. The beautiful scenery includes splendid lagoons, sylvan seashores and continuous miles of sun soaked sand and the charm of green swaying palms and stunning aquatic flora and fauna.

There are four populated islands, Kalpeni, Kavaratti, Kadmath and Minicoy that are open frequently to Indian tourists. Agatti, Kadmat and Bangaram are open for both foreign and domestic tourists. Kavaratti, the headquarters of the administration, is a beautiful lagoon that forms a perfect spot for water sports and leisure basking on sandy beaches. You can enjoy the marine life exhibitions at the newly made marine aquarium and a few specimens at the museum. Dolphin Drive Centre has great water Sports facilities that make it a favorite spot for water sport lovers. Sailing yachts, Kayaks, and glass-bottomed boats are readily available for hire.

Kalpeni is known for its beautiful beauty with little islands called Tilakkam, Pitti and an abandoned island on the north side, Cheriyam. There is a huge superficial lagoon that surrounds these islands. The peculiar feature of Kalpeni is the immense storm of coral debris, along the eastern and southeastern seashore.

Minicoy is a crescent shaped island in the southernmost side of Lakshadweep. It has one of the biggest lagoons. It is an interesting island due to its marvelous Maldivian character. The beaches here have bathing huts and changing rooms. You can swim, have a beach walk, pedal boat, kayaking and sailing.

Kadamat is located 407 kilometers from Cochin with 8 kilometers long and 550 mts wide land. It has a beautiful shallow large lagoon on the west side with lush coral growth. It is an ideal destination for the water sports as there is a narrow lagoon towards the eastern side. Enjoy water sports like, Kayaks, Sailing Yachts, Pedal Boats, Skiing Boats and boats with the glass bottom on hire. Kadmath Institute of Water Sports offers international standards of equipment for Wind Surfing, Para Sailing Scuba Diving, and Water Skiing.

Kadamat is very popular with tourists for its accommodation facilities in the tourists' huts. It is perfectly set amongst the natural setting of the coconut palm groves and the beaches that face the lagoon. Kadmat is an island ideal for water sports and to enjoy the real holiday with sun, sea and sand.

A bewitchingly beautiful island, Bangaram is open for the foreign tourists. It is a teardrop shaped island that has excellent beaches and picturesque lagoons. There are numerous adventures here to enjoy-like Beach Games, Scuba Diving, Snorkeling, Swimming, and Deep Sea Fishing.
